The Lakes International Language Academy, also known as LILA, is an elementary education institution that enrolls students in kindergarten through grade six. The academy offers a range of academic and enrichment programs. It serves children from Minnesota and focuses on the social and cultural development of students. The academy offers classes in Spanish and English reading and writing skills development. The Lakes International Language Academy also offers classes in social studies, mathematics, science, technology education and arts. The academy also administers basic skills development and special education programs. The Lakes International Language Academy maintains a reading room and operates a parent-teacher organization.

The Income Maintenance Department provides programs and quality services that support the dignity and self-sufficiency of residents in Anoka County, Minn. The department offers a variety of cash programs for individuals and families that include Diversionary Work Program, Minnesota Family Investment Program and Minnesota Supplemental Aid. The Income Maintenance Department s child support program helps children in obtaining financial, medical and child care supports. It also offers a range of emergency and food support programs. Additionally, the department provides funeral funds, medical programs and housing referral assistance. The Income Maintenance Department is administered by the Department of Human Services.
