The St. Louis County Public Health & Human Services Department provides welfare services to the citizens. The department collaborates with the local departments of social services throughout the state and other local service providers to offer assistance to elderly citizens in need of protection from abuse. It also offers services to adults who require the services of adult care residences and provides care, transportation and nutrition services to adults with disabilities. The department additionally provides financial and energy assistance. The St. Louis County Public Health & Human Services Department promotes the development of healthy families and protects children from abuse and neglect. The department maintains an office in Duluth, Minn.
