In business for more than 35 years, Magnepan has been manufacturing stereo speakers since Jim Winey, the inventor of the Magneplanar loudspeakers, first owned electrostatic loudspeakers and began the process of experimenting to design an improved electrostat. In 1969 Winey invented the Magneplanar, a thin-film magnetic equivalent to the electrostat and started the company Magnepan, a speaker based company currently manufacturing home theater system speakers. Magnepan manufactures home speaker systems, surround sound speakers, loud speakers, home theater speakers, audio speakers, best stereo speakers and home theater systems available through dealers in the United States and Canada. The company s corporate and manufacturing facilities are located in White Bear Lake, Minn.
