Banaadir Academy

Banaadir Academy offers a K-12 tuition-free academic experience designed by educators, parents/guardians & leaders in the Minnesota Somali community. Students progress through Banaadir to become responsible, competent & prepared life-long learners.We are MTCS, a K-12 academic community. In 1995, we began with one school, the Minnesota Transition Charter School, and have since grown into a collaboration of nine learning options each having their own focus and personality. Like our programs, we know that each child is unique with their own set of strengths, interests and needs, and we want to build on these. Its a one step at a time process one success that builds on another until they have reached their goal.

As a facility of Minneapolis Public Schools Food Service Department, Minneapolis Public Schools Nutrition Center offers meal services for the district s schools. It participates in the National School Lunch Program, a federal plan. The center offers a range of dining options for elementary, middle and high schools students. It provides serves various food items made from fresh vegetables and legumes, including Cuban black bean salad, California turkey hoagie, turkey salad croissant, chicken wrap and veggie buster wrap. Located in Minneapolis, Minneapolis Public Schools Nutrition Center is a part of Minneapolis Public Schools, which governs elementary, middle and high schools, as well as offers a range of recreational, academic and athletic programs for students.

WISE exists to ensure the academic and social development of students while restoring the essence of the family and community with an emphasis on academic achievement, cultural awareness and responsible citizenship.
