Shel-Haven Canoe Livery is located on the beautiful Manistee River, just 8 miles west of Grayling on M-72. Shel Haven was built in 1964 and has been owned by the Tompkins' family for 30+ years. Friendly and courteous service is our specialty. At Shel-Haven we encourage and do a great job accommodating large groups, family outings, and company trips. Our trip starts upstream at Longs and ends at Shel-Haven with no time restrictions or late fees to be concerned about.

What an amazing place! We were looking for something to do and we found Shel-Haven on Yelp - I am glad we did. Easy to find and easy to get too. I have been to a couple canoe/kayak rentals down...

Friendly service. But...no control over people bringing booze, pot, and glass containers on the river. No respect for the river.

they don't do anything for people with their own kayaks even if you're willing to pay full price. Not for people , more about money
