Once Dr Russell explored medicine as a career, it was clear to him that he would never be truly fulfilled doing anything else. Dr Russell was drawn to internal medicine, in particular, due to the breadth of the field, and the ability to treat patients of various levels of acuity, and in various practice settings. His parents were Dr Russell’s biggest influence for their unwavering support of his goals and aspirations. Every day, Dr Russell looks forward to helping patients with various health conditions, and to the challenge of solving difficult problems. In his free time, Dr Russell mentors, participates in committees related to the provision of medical care and is also a board member of a nonprofit science center.

With a doctor for a father, Dr Andrea Loder grew up following him around the hospital and watching him work. She has always been fascinated by science and loves learning about medicine. Dr Loder explains, “Pediatrics is the icing on the cake because children are so fun. They are honest, straightforward and resilient. I cannot image doing anything else.” In more recent years, Dr Loder has had the opportunity to view healthcare “from the other side of the exam table” - as she’s navigated through a terminal illness and catastrophic injury within her own family. These experiences helped her be a better physician by reminding her how much each and every visit matters to the patient.

Brandi was drawn into this specialty out of amazement for the process of pregnancy and birth. She knew she wanted to be a midwife because she values health promotion and non-intervention in natural processes. One reason she enjoys going to work every day is because of the opportunity to share in the amazing process of pregnancy and birth. She also looks forward to the opportunity to partner with women and empower them to make choices that will optimize their health throughout their lifetime. Brandi’s family has been the biggest influence on her life, as well as becoming a mother of three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, yoga, and doing just about anything outdoors.
