Jewish Community Adult Day

Fleischman Residence is located in West Bloomfield, Mich., and operates as a part of the Jewish Home and Aging Services. It provides a home for senior adults that include facilities, such as climate control heating and air conditioning, emergency call switches, easy-to-reach light switches, and installed phone and cable connection. It provides a wide range of care services for the senior residents, such as nutritional meals and snacks, registered dietician evaluation, behavioral monitoring, medical care coordination, vital sign monitoring, recreational programming and activities and medication assistance. In addition, the homes provide laundry and linens service, weekly housekeeping service, transportation assistance and room tray service for three days after a hospital stay. The organization provides several activities for the entertainment of the guests, including group exercise, fine arts classes, gardening, walking club, movie shows, theater club, current event discussions, card club and Shabbat celebration.

Established in 1907, Jewish Home & Aging Services provides a range of outreach programs and aging services for the support of Jewish adults. It provides personal care, assistance, medication and therapeutic services to senior citizens who are suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Its Chaplaincy Program provides pastoral care and religious services to senior citizens who live in non-Jewish facilities throughout the metropolitan Detroit area. Jewish Home & Aging Services also offers a program to meet the psychosocial and emotional needs of aging Jewish Holocaust survivors and their families. Its Art of Jewish Caregiving is a unique program designed to educate health care professionals and caregivers. With a location in West Bloomfield, Mich., Jewish Home & Aging Services has partnerships with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
