East Lansing Fire Department

The East Lansing Fire Department preserves and protects life and property through preparation, education and implementation of a variety of fire safety programs. It provides services to the city and Michigan State University and serves a population of more than 50,000 people. The department offers a range of fire prevention and suppression and emergency medical services. Its inventory includes trucks, advance life support units and special response vehicles. The East Lansing Fire Department offers a rooming house inspection program that includes conducting inspections of the rooming houses by the department. In addition, it conducts fire education tours.
