The biggest influence in Dr Schwalm's life has been her children. Learning to be a good mom has also made her a better doctor! Dr Schwalm has learned patience and how to meet the needs of individual patients and their families – it's important to understand what decisions are best for them. She most enjoys what kids have to say, because you never know what that might be! During her fellowship, Dr Schwalm did research on all types of lymphoma and also developed a special interest in neuroblastoma during that time. When she has free time, Dr Schwalm enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They all enjoying the outdoors, especially kayaking.
