Brookhaven Medical Care Facility

Established in 1966, Oakview Medical Care Facility provides long-term care and rehabilitative services to the residents of Mason County, Mich. It is a Medicare- and Medicaid-licensed, 75-plus-bed skilled nursing facility that employs over 130 full- and part-time employees. It offers 24-hour nursing care, routine medical visits by attending physicians, and physical, occupational, recreational and speech therapies. The facility has a support center, Hospitality Suite, which provides 24-hour support to family members whose loved one is in the end stages of life. It provides service under a managed care contract with the state of Michigan, Department of Community Health. Its programs and activities are governed by a board of directors and its services are available to residents of the community who have Medicaid or are uninsured, and are eligible for services as defined by the Michigan Mental Health Code.
