HistoryEstablished in 1990 Recognizing the need for a high quality automotive service company on the lake shore, Automotive Advantage was started in November of 1990. After building our reputation for the finest import auto service in the area, we changed our name from Automotive Advantage to Cars for Keeps to better reflect our expanded capabilities and investment in training, equipment and specialty tooling to provide service for all makes and models of cars and light trucks. In 2002, we were chosen as the areas only ASE Blue Seal of Excellence Garage. In 2003, we achieved Bosch Car Service recognition. Affiliation with the Robert Bosch Corporation gives us access to technical information,training and parts relationships that fewer than 1,500 other garages in the nation have access to. In May, 2011 we acquired the former Dr. Phils Auto Clinic building in Spring Lake Michigan as our second location.SpecialtiesWe are an AAA Approved Repair Shop, meeting rigorous standards for repairs on a wide range of brands. Our specialties include Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, Subaru, Volvo and Lexus repair. At Cars for Keeps automotive repair shop, we combine preventative maintenance and customer education with the best service money can buy. ASE Master Mechanic and owner Rob Hopp and his small, dedicated team are veterans in making accurate recommendations and quick repairs. Founded in 1945, Muskegon Brake and Distributing Company specializes in brake and suspension installation and repair, with a focus on Corvette components. The company is the sole manufacturer of the TRW designed composite spring for Corvettes between 1963 and 1982. For any make or model of car or truck, it performs a variety of repair services, including brakes, alignment, shocks and struts, suspension sprint arching and custom work for antique cars. The company employs more than 50 people, including 25 certified mechanics and technicians. Muskegon Brake and Distributing is headquartered in a 30,000-square-foot facility in Muskegon, Mich.
