Fiber Char Corporation is a privately owned company based in Alpena, Michigan. Fiber Char was founded in 1978 while America was still celebrating it's bi-centennial. During this era, customers were interested in decor items that reflected early American themes. Feeling the demand for such items, Fiber Char began as a manufacturer of brushed and charred wood picture frame moulding and solid pine decorative shelving. As time passed and customer interest changed, Fiber Char expanded plant operations to include moulding and surfacing operations.
