Walker is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of services to individuals between the ages of 3 and 22 with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. It is a network of facilities that offers mental health, training, consulting and child welfare advocacy solutions. The organization administers the Walker Intensive Residential Treatment Program. Tenacity is a nonprofit organization that has been operational since 1999. It organizes fitness classes and after-school care programs. D.E.A.F. provides independent living services and programs. The organization is founded by Deaf leaders from the National Association of the deaf and the Massachusetts State Association of the Deaf. It has been serving the Boston Metropolitan community since 1977. D.E.A.F. offers information and referrals for advocacy, skills training, peer counseling and technical assistance. The organization s Deafblind Community Access Network, established in 2001, conducts community, educational, recreational, religious and cultural events. The organization receives funds from the United Way of Massachusetts Bay. It additionally provides continuous education classes for the deaf and hard of hearing community in a variety of subjects.
