Welcome to the Dedham-Westwood Water District's web site! We are a public service organization and our goal is to provide you with the highest level of service as well as the best quality water possible. We are the only water supplier available in our area. This carries a great responsibility. Our employees strive to meet a high standard of service to our customers. We always welcome your input and suggestions for how to serve you.Dedham-Westwood Water District is a non-profit, locally controlled public water system. The District was created by the Massachusetts legislature in 1985 to operate as a self-supporting unit of local government. Rates are set by the Water Commissioners to cover the cost of delivering a product which meets federal and state guidelines under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Policy is also set by the Board, a six member commission with three commissioners from each town, appointed by their Board of Selectmen. Public meetings are held each month at the District's office at 50 Elm Street in Dedham. Dates and times of meetings are posted at both town halls and on this site. All customers are encouraged to attend these meetings.Thank you for allowing us to continue providing your family with high quality water. In our continuing efforts to maintain a safe and dependable water supply, it will be necessary to continuously improve your water system. We ask that all our customers help us protect our water sources, which are at the heart of our community, our way of life and our children's future. Important educational information on resource protection, conservation, and other current issues is included in the District's newsletter mailed with all bills.
