Rex Lumber is among the largest wholesale-hardwood distributor on the Eastern Seaboard. The company services woodworkers, retailers, store fixture manufacturers and other companies that use hardwood lumber in their manufacturing processes. Rex Lumber also exports lumber overseas and ship lumber via contract carrier to the Midwest and West Coast. Rex Lumber Company has four facilities located in Acton, Mass., South Windsor, Conn., Englishtown, N.J. and Doswell, Va. The largest mill is located in Connecticut, where there are five moulders and a state-of-the-art computerized, cross-cut and rip saw. The Englishtown facility also has a mill and stores up to 1.5 million board feet of kiln-dried stock and 2 million board feet of air-dried stock. The Virginia facility is smaller, storing 600,000 board feet of kiln-dried lumber. The millwork facility has a roughing planer, a cabinet planer and a straight-line rip saw.
