Southcoast Health System provides medical services for residents of New Bedford, Mass. The system s services include emergency, psychiatric, cardiology and surgical care. Southcoast Health System encompasses three medical campuses including Charlton Memorial Hospital of Fall River, Mass., St. Luke s Hospital of New Bedford, Mass., and Tobey Hospital of Wareham, Mass., along with more than 41 ancillary facilities. The nonprofit health system network of primary and specialty practices includes neurosurgery, women s health and pediatrics. Charlton was founded in 1885, St. Luke s was established in 1884 and Tobey emerged in 1938. The three hospitals merged in 1996 to form Southcoast Health System.
