Provincetown Water Department is a part of Provincetown Public Works Department. Based in Provincetown, Mass., the water department is governed by the Provincetown Water and Sewer Board. It supplies drinking water to the town of Provincetown and several areas within the town of Truro. Provincetown Water Department uses sodium hypochlorite as its primary disinfectant. It adds potassium hydroxide to its water to reduce lead and copper concentration.
