The Allan M Walker Insurance Agency has been in business since its inception in 1847, starting a long history of serving the community of Taunton and the surrounding area. It all began in 1847 when a gentleman named Phillip Hill opened his door to sell insurance representing one company. After various management and ownership changes, Mr. Allan Walker came to purchase the agency in 1948 just over 100 years from the beginning. Eventually the Walker Agency was acquired by the Paul Peters Town Crier Group of Falmouth Massachusetts. This change in ownership kicked off two important events in Walker Insurance history. It was the beginning of our Town Crier logo which still stands in front of our office today and most importantly Mr. Paul Peters hired Joseph I. Quinn in 1958 as president and manger of the Taunton office. Mr. Peters' decision to hire Joe Quinn proved to be beneficial to the insurance agency, the City of Taunton and Massachusetts Insurance. Joseph Quinn went on to grow the agency, become a leader in Massachusetts Independent Insurance Agents and become a part of Taunton by helping growth in the city. He was involved with Taunton Development Corporation since its inception, participated in numerous volunteer organizations, and helped area youth by coaching high school hockey for more than 30-years. We have recently renovated our office and updated our technology. Our team has a combined agency experience of 229 years!
