From its humble beginnings on Kentucky Avenue to its current location on Walker Mill Drive in Capitol Heights, Maryland, the church has remained committed to its mission of trusting and believing in God's word, serving the community, and striving for spiritual growth. Under the leadership of Reverend Matthew Marks and later Reverend Robert R. Johnson Sr., the church experienced significant growth both spiritually and numerically. After years of dedication and hard work, the congregation was able to pay off the mortgage on their previous church building on Quire Avenue. In 2011, New Mount Nebo Baptist Church merged with Living Testimony Missionary Baptist Church, uniting under the leadership of Reverend Robert R.
