Aqua Star

Aqua Star Pressure Washing - serving residential and commercial customers throughout Maryland and the Mid Atlantic region. Specializing in House Washing (Aluminum & Vinyl, Cedar & Log Homes), Deck / Fence Cleaning and Sealing, Concrete Cleaning, Driveway Sealing, Roof Washing House Washing Process We start by pre-treating areas to kill all mildew. Then we apply a soap that is specially designed for house washing. It loosens dirt, mildew and other pollutants so they can be easily rinsed at a low pressure. Gutters are scrubbed with a soap that is designed to take off the black streaks that will often adhere to gutters. We then apply a wax to the siding. This is done to give the siding a protective coating that will resist the adhesion of dirt and mildew. Finally, we go back and re-rinse all the windows.Deck Restoration Process To help bring out the true natural beauty of your deck, we first remove the dirt, mildew, old stains and sealers from the wood. We then apply a high-quality, penetrating oil sealer. We begin the restoration process by applying an environmentally friendly cleaner to the entire deck. This loosens the dirt and mildew and also gets rid of the decaying wood bers that give your deck that unsightly gray look. The high quality cleaners and strippers we use allow us to clean away old sealers and stains at a very low pressure - which keeps your deck from being damaged. The state-of-the-art equipment we use allows us to use varying amounts of pressure to clean any surface - no matter how tough or ingrained the dirt! We then use a wood brightener, which brings the wood back to its natural color and neutralizes the cleaner and stripper. This step is very important to allow the sealer to work properly. The deck is then allowed to dry thoroughly before sealing (we use an electronic moisture meter to ensure that the wood is ready). Two coats of sealer are applied to the floor and the railing tops. One coat is allowed to soak in while the sealer is applied to the railings - then a second coat is applied to the floor (although not all sealers recommend two coats). We use a brush or sprayer to apply the sealer to the railings, and a roller to apply the sealer to the floor. Rollers give a nice even coating, however a spray may be needed to get between the floor boards. We follow the same process, and use the same products in the restoration of fences, cedar siding and cedar-shingled roofs, though the application methods may be different
