Dr. Duncan specializes in gastrointestinal surgical oncology, including surgery of the esophagus, stomach, intestine, colon and rectum, gallbladder and pancreas, adrenal and retroperitoneal sarcoma. He has national and international expertise in gastric cancer and hereditary gastric cancer including CDH-1. He wrote the Johns Hopkins Patient Guide for Cancer of the Stomach and Esophagus. Dr. Duncan gives lectures and presentations nationally and internationally on Gastric and GI cancer surgery and works with Johns Hopkins International on cancer programs and centers overseas.

Stefan Coombs, M.D., M.B.B.S., is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and an advanced clinical fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at New York University Langone. During his residency, Dr. Coombs received numerous awards for academics and leadership, and he has been involved in medical student training as a mentor for the Orthopaedic Research Society and interest groups. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and served as the academic and administrative chief resident during his final year of residency training. Dr. Coombs enjoys giving back to his communities, with a focus on youth development and mentorship, and he has volunteered on the medical team that performs annual exams for students in Washington public school sports programs. Dr. Coombs’ research interests include patient outcomes after hip and knee replacement, treatment of fractures, and sports-related hip and knee injuries. He has co-authored research publications and made poster and oral presentations on these topics at national meetings. Dr. Coombs is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
