HistoryHeARTwares is Art with a Heart's social enterprise/retail store. Works of art created by Art with a Heart students and volunteers are displayed and sold. Half of all sale proceeds are shared with the participating community partner or artist. Students also work in HeARTwares and gain real job experience in dealing with the public, handling money, and presenting a professional appearance and manner. Art with a Heart's mission is to enhance the lives of people in need through visual art. Art with a Heart brings its 10,000 visual art classes to abused, neglected and abandoned children; homeless people; battered women and their children; mentally and physically disabled adults; low-income senior citizens; elementary, middle, and high school students; youth in after-school programs; and children receiving long-term health careSpecialtiesPlease note: HeARTwares is by appointment only on weekends. HeARTwares sells a wide variety of hand-made and one-of-a-kind artwork, jewelry, house ware items, garden ornaments, and assorted gifts.
