John Gearhart MD

Dr. Brian Ladle is a pediatric cancer specialist in Baltimore, caring for patients with pediatric sarcoma. Dr. Ladle received his undergraduate degree in molecular biology from Brigham Young University. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and performed a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Johns Hopkins and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Ladle joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2013.Dr. Ladle's research focuses on translational immunology, with the goal of developing novel immunotherapies for the treatment of pediatric malignancies. His lab currently focuses on augmenting anti-tumor T cell responses to solid tumors such as osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and rhabdomyosarcoma.He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Children's Oncology Group.

Dr Halperin received the B.S degree in physics with highest distinction from Purdue University, the M.A. degree in physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and the M.D. degree from Louisiana State University, New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, an Established Investigator and Fellow of the American Heart Association, and a McClure Fellow of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics laboratory. Dr. Halperin is currently a Professor of Medicine, Radiology and Biomedical Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. He is the co-director of the Cardiovascular Imaging Center of Excellence. He serves on the editorial board of the journal Resuscitation, and is a past chair of the national American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Subcommittee and a past member of the Emergency Cardiac Care Committee. Ten of his students have received young investigator awards from the American Heart Association and Heart Rhythm Society, and he has ongoing support from the National Institutes of Heath for his research programs. He has over 120 peer-reviewed publications and over 20 patents issued.

Dr. Douglas Ball is an associate professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointment in oncology. His areas of clinical expertise include diagnostic radiology, endocrine oncology, thyroid cancer and thyroid diseases. Dr. Ball earned his M.D. from the George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh-Presbyterian University Hospital and performed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Johns Hopkins. His research interests include medullary thyroid cancer, differentiated thyroid cancer and anaplastic thyroid cancer.
