Jihad Alhariri, MD

Lauren Brennan is a family nurse practitioner with advanced clinical expertise in gastroenterology and a strong foundation in surgical and medical nursing. She has experience providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based practice, holistic care and a commitment to health equity and inclusion. Brennan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from St. Petersburg College in Florida and a Master of Science degree in nursing from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with an executive leadership focus and a post-master’s certificate in nursing education from The Johns Hopkins University. Throughout her career, Brennan has held leadership roles, contributed to quality improvement initiatives, and served on interdisciplinary committees focused on infection control, staff development and patient safety.

Dr. Luis Andres Garza is a professor of dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include hidradenitis suppurativa, alopecia areata, and general dermatology.Dr. Garza received his undergraduate degree in neurobiology from Cornell University. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. together from the medical scientist training program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Garza completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Michigan and performed his fellowship in dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2009.In addition to treating patients, Dr. Garza runs a molecular biology laboratory that studies skin stem cells and wound healing with an emphasis on identifying the next generation of wound therapeutics and diagnostics.

Dr. Tanya J. W. McDonald focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and seizures. Her specific interests include dietary therapies for adults with epilepsy, evaluations for seizure surgery and epilepsy in women (including considerations during pregnancy).Her research focuses on the impact of ketogenic diets like the modified Atkins diets, on cardiovascular health measures in adults with epilepsy.Dr. McDonald completed her undergraduate studies at Emory University and received her medical and doctoral degrees from Cornell University. She trained in neurology and epilepsy at Johns Hopkins.
