He earned his medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Utah, and completed his residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins. He also accomplished a fellowship in open and endoscopic head and neck and skull base surgery at The Ohio State University, under the direction of Dr. Ricardo Carrau.
