Dr. Abularrage specializes in vascular and endovascular surgery, with a specific interest in minimally invasive techniques for lower extremity peripheral arterial disease and aneurysm repair. His clinical interests include limb preservation, Diabetic peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage, aortic aneurysms, endovascular aneurysm repair, visceral stents and bypass, and carotid stents and carotid endarterectomy. Dr. Abularrage is an active researcher within the department and has published widely on outcomes research using large, national databases. Recently, Dr. Abularrage and his team have published their outcomes of patients treated in the Multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot & Wound Clinic, showing significantly lower amputation rates compared to national benchmarks. Dr. Abularrage is a distinguished fellow to the Society of the American Board of Surgery, and recipient of the Zehner Award and the R. Clement Darling, Jr. Award. The Johns Hopkins Division of Thoracic Surgery located at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is dedicated to the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the chest. Our team takes a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer and other diseases of the chest. Thomas Reifsnyder, M.D., FACS, assistant professor of surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. After completing a surgical internship, residency and vascular fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, he completed an endovascular fellowship at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Before joining Johns Hopkins, Reifsnyder was a member of the teaching faculty at Western Pennsylvania Hospital as well as at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), St. Margaret Hospital. Credentialed in vascular technology, Dr. Reifsnyder serves as director of vascular surgery and the vascular laboratory at Johns Hopkins Bayview. He has co-authored numerous publications and contributed to several professional organizations and committees across the country with his multi-disciplinary expertise.
