Family & Children's Services of Central Maryland

Our staff of highly skilled professionals has expertise in child welfare, counseling and geriatric services. They are committed to working with you and your family to solve the problems for which you seek help. This is an outline of the partnership we envision establishing with you and your family. If you have any questions, please be sure to discuss them with your counselor. Quality of Service We strive to provide high quality service. All services provided by Family and Children's Services are delivered by qualified staff under the supervision of experienced personnel. There will be periodic reviews of your service plan, with ample opportunity for reassessment and refinement of the plan. Many, but not all, of our programs charge a fee based upon a sliding scale that takes into account family income and, in some cases, family size and other expenses. Staff will work with you to determine your specific fee. We accept insurance reimbursement, when available. We accept most insurance plans and provide out-of-network coverage to those who have plans in which we do not participate. We are a participating member in Maryland Health Partners and Medical Assistance

Established in 1964, Jewish Family Service of Greater Harrisburg, ( JFS ), is a full service, non-profit social service agency offering services to any resident in central Pennsylvania, without regard to age, race, religion or creed, sexual orientation or disability. JFS is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services to Families and Children and is part of a nationwide referral network for social services. Our mission is to promote and strengthen healthy family life for the Greater Harrisburg Community. We focus on empowering clients to remain or become active and productive members of the community. Many of our services are offered in-home to provide access to the homebound. Our dedicated volunteers are critical to the success of our organization and are an important component of our in-home services to seniors and physically disabled clients. JFS works to meet the needs of all individuals throughout the life cycle, and we continually refine our programs to adapt to the changing needs of our clients.
