Elizabeth Fracica, MD

Dr. Harold Yihao Wu is a minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon and researcher who specializes in treating women with abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, adenomyosis and endometriosis. He has extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures to address these conditions. Dr. Wu also conducts clinical research to find ways to continue improving patient care and outcomes. Dr. Wu understands that the best patient-centered care depends on open and honest communication between doctors and patients, which he facilitates with a caring and compassionate approach. He ensures each individual has time to ask questions and voice concerns. A skilled listener, Dr. Wu honors the trust patients place in him. He creates a safe environment to discuss all aspects of women’s well-being and experience, including menstrual problems, pelvic pain, and LGBTQ and sexual health.Dr. Wu’s distinctive education started with earning his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in music and neurobiology at Harvard University, where he was named to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He earned his M.D. at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He also completed a residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Johns Hopkins and was administrative chief resident. A fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Johns Hopkins followed. Dr. Wu then joined the Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics as a faculty member.When not caring for patients, Dr. Wu, an accomplished pianist and self-described “foodie,” enjoys classical music, cooking with his partner and enjoying new cuisine.

James Stuart Ferriss is an associate professor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and director of the F.J. Montz Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program.He is an expert in the care of women with cancers of the uterus, cervix, vulva, vagina, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Dr. Ferriss is passionate about minimally invasive approaches to surgery and has extensive experience with robotic surgery. Dr. Ferriss received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Louisiana State University. He then completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and his fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Virginia.Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Ferriss was associate professor in the departments of women’s health and oncology at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. Before that, he was assistant professor in the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Temple University in Philadelphia.Dr. Ferriss’ research is focused on innovations in surgical and clinical education.Dr. Ferriss serves on a variety of boards and is a member of the Society of Gyneocologic Oncology, Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Society, American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Surgeons and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.He has been recognized with several awards and honors, including being named a top doctor for outstanding patient care. Dr. Ferriss’ passion for getting to know each of his patients’ values and personal treatment goals and empowering them to be active participants in their treatment defines his approach to patient care. Dr. Ferriss has special interest in supporting his patients through the entire arc of their cancer care from diagnosis to surgery, chemotherapy, and survivorship and palliative care.
