He also served as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow and legislative staff member on the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee under Senator Edward Kennedy from 2000 to 2001. Board-certified in general surgery and hospice and palliative medicine, Dr. Dunn is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the Center to Advance Palliative Care, the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and Physicians for Social Responsibility.
