Danny Lee, M.D., practices internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians Odenton. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College, and completed residencies in radiation oncology at Mount Sinai Medical Center and internal medicine at University of Rochester Medical Center.

Sang Hun Lee, M.D., Ph.D, is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon with expertise in complex cervical spine (neck) and spine tumor surgery. Dr. Lee specializes in the latest orthopaedic and neurosurgical techniques in cervical spine degenerative disc disease, cervical spine minimally invasive procedures, cervical spine deformities, cervical spinal reconstruction, and management of spinal tumors (primary and metastatic spine tumors). Dr. Lee is also performing endoscopic spine surgeries, which is the most technically advanced minimally invasive spine surgery for cervical and lumbar disc herniation or spinal stenosis using uniportal or biportal endoscopic procedures. Dr. Lee was a Full Professor and taught numerous residents and fellows in South Korea from 1999 to 2015, and he became a renowned cervical spine expert in the Asia-Pacific region. As a founding member of Korean and Asian Pacific Cervical Spine, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Spinal Tumor Research Societies, Dr. Lee has been a key speaker and thought leader at numerous international spine meetings. He has also been invited to visit and operate with leading spine surgeons in the U.S., Japan and around the world.Dr. Lee regularly teaches other surgeons at national and international meetings on safety and efficiency when performing cervical spine surgery, the latest techniques in the field and strategies for complication avoidance. He has been on the faculty at the Cervical Spine Research Society meetings and the instructional courses. Dr. Lee is an international expert on diagnosis, nonsurgical and surgical treatment of cervical spine conditions and spine tumors. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and articles on diagnosis and treatment of spinal conditions. His work has resulted in numerous research awards and podium presentations. Dr. Lee completed his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at the prestigious Kyung Hee University, School of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency and spine fellowship at Kyung Hee University hospital in Seoul, one of the most prestigious programs in Asia. Dr. Lee also pursued advanced spinal tumor and neurosurgical oncology training at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where he worked with world-experts on complex spinal tumor reconstructive surgery.

Hamid Hassanzadeh, M.D., is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spine conditions and disorders. He treats patients with back and neck pain due to degenerative disk disease, complex and simple spinal deformities such as scoliosis and kyphosis, spinal infections, spinal tumors and spinal trauma. He is experienced in a variety of spine procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic spine surgery and disk replacement.A Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and division chief of Johns Hopkins orthopaedic surgery in the National Capital Region, Dr. Hassanzadeh came to Johns Hopkins from the University of Virginia, where he was a tenured associate professor of orthopaedic surgery, director of the spine surgery fellowship, co-director of the UVA Spine Center and director of spine research. Dr. Hassanzadeh received his medical degree from the University of Hamburg, Germany, followed by a two-year neurosurgery residency at Westküstenklinikum Heide. He went on to complete his orthopaedic internship and residency at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by a spine surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center and a pediatric spine surgery fellowship at Shriners Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.In addition to treating patients, Dr. Hassanzadeh is dedicated to educating the next generation of orthopaedic spine specialists. He accomplished this in his previous role as director of a spine surgery fellowship, as a mentor to several postdoctoral fellows, as an instructor of multiple national and international training courses, and as an author of numerous talks and research publications.Dr. Hassanzadeh’s research interests include improving outcomes of spinal surgeries in adult and elderly patients, motion preservation, and outcomes after minimally invasive procedures. He is an award-winning researcher, has published more than 150 peer-reviewed papers and 40 textbook chapters and presented in many conferences and invited talks in the U.S. and internationally. His clinical care excellence earned him a spot on the Best Doctors in America list in 2019–20.
