Celebrating the life journey of your loved one means listening carefully to your concerns and desires, helping you to plan a service that truly honors life's path. When I purchased the G.C. Barton Funeral Home in 1973, I made a vow to myself and to my professional staff to provide quality service that surpassed personal considerations, and focused entirely on the needs of the families we would serve. Our concept of full service included providing families with every possible comfort in the funeral home, and helping them make arrangements that would paytribute to their loved ones in ways that would preserve cherished memories and create new ones. We worked steadily toward this important goal by opening our Frederick location in 1975. This facility was the first local funeral home designed as a business, not as a residence that was converted. Then in 1980, we acquired the M.L. Creager Funeral Home in Thurmont, and purchased a landmark home on Ridgeville Boulevardin Mt. Airy, where we remodeled it into a spacious, comfortable facility. In March 2002, we constructed a private on-site crematory at the Opossumtown Pike Chapel, to more completely serve families who choose this honored form of final disposition. We are the only full service funeral home with an onsite crematory in Frederick County. In 2003, we built a brand new facility in Brunswick, Maryland. In April 2008, my family and I longtime friends of the Bast family, acquired the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home. We have vowed to continue the Bast tradition of outstanding service and dedication to the community. We hope you'll consider Stauffer Funeral Homes so that we can continue our tradition of serving families in the past, present and future. The Stauffer Family
