Dr. Aaron M. Milstone is a professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointments in Epidemiology and Health Policy and Management at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. A pediatric epidemiologist, Dr. Milstone specializes in treating infectious diseases in children. He serves as an associate hospital epidemiologist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the pediatric lead for infection prevention for the Johns Hopkins Health System. Dr. Milstone earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed both a pediatrics residency and a research fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He also completed a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Johns Hopkins. He holds a M.H.S. (Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Milstone joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2007. His research interests focus on antibiotic resistance and prevention of healthcare-associated infections. He had led numerous clinical trials including the Pediatric SCRUB Trial and TREAT PARENTS Trial testing strategies to prevent organism transmission and healthcare-associated infections. He is principal investigator of the BrighT STAR Collaborative, guiding hospitals nationwide to reduce over-testing as a strategy to reduce antibiotic use and resistance. Dr. Milstone is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. His many other professional honors include the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society’s 2014 Young Investigator Award, the inaugural 2013 Caroline B. Hall Clinical Innovation Award, and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America 2018 Mentor Scholar Award, and 2023 Johns Hopkins Medicine Armstrong Award for Excellence in Quality & Safety.

Dr. Risa Wolf is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is the Founder and Medical Director of Camp Charm City diabetes camp in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Wolf's research focus is on clinical care innovations to improve outcomes in pediatric diabetes. She is the Principal Investigator of a study implementing point-of-care diabetes retinopathy screening into pediatric diabetes care, a Co-Investigator for Trialnet, and the Principal Investigator for the Pediatric Diabetes Consortium site at Johns Hopkins. She also studies a novel family of proteins, called CTRPs, to determine their impact on glucose and lipid metabolism in the context of obesity and diabetes. Dr. Wolf is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the Endocrine Society, and the American Diabetes Association.

Christopher Joseph Hammond, MD

Dr. Hammond is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University Department of Psychiatry with a joint appointment in the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Behavioral Pharmacology Research Unit (Affiliate). He completed his M.D. at University of Florida and his Ph.D. and residency/fellowship training at Yale University. Dr. Hammond’s research program focuses on characterizing the neurobiological predictors and mechanisms of treatment response for adolescent substance use disorders (SUDs) using multimodal neuroimaging (MRI, EEG) and large-scale brain network analytic approaches. His research is funded by a NIDA/AACAP Career Development Award (K12DA000357). Dr. Hammond’s research group is embedded in a larger collaborative research network within Johns Hopkin University School of Medicine applying translational neuroscience, clinical, and epidemiological methods to improve our understanding of brain-behavior relationships for youth suffering from substance use and mental health problems and aid in designing better evidence-based interventions. Clinically, Dr. Hammond works with youth (ages 13-25) with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders in his role as Medical Director of the Co-occurring Disorders in Adolescents and Young Adults (CODA) Clinic at Johns Hopkins. He currently serves on the AACAP’s Substance Abuse and Addictions Committee and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry’s Youth and Adolescent Addiction Treatment Committee.
