Maine Veterans Home

Maine Veterans' Homes is a public, nonprofit organization and operates more than six facilities located throughout the state, including one located in Scarborough, Maine. Established in 1990, it provides 24-hour restorative nursing in its various units, including a more than 40-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing care unit, an over 40-bed long-term care unit and a unit for residents suffering from Alzheimer s disease and other related dementias. Its medical services include skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term, residential and respite care and its rehabilitation care includes speech, language, occupational and physical therapies. Maine Veterans' Home, Scarborough, is also a teaching facility affiliated with schools of nursing and the family practice and internal medicine residency programs at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
