Somerset Economic Development Corporation was incorporated in December 1999 as a 501c ( 3 ) organization. We have a seventeen member board of directors which includes local municipal officials, a county commissioner, a banker, a lawyer and representatives from the tourism, construction, manufacturing, forestry. and education sectors. We meet the last Friday of each month for the purpose of conducting our general business meeting and to discuss topics related to economic development issues in Somerset County. Somerset Economic Development Corporation commissioned a study during the winter of 2007 to update the economic development strategy Somerset County of the economy of Somerset County. This strategy outlines four broad goals and fourteen priorities define our mission. They are briefly recounted as: Goal 1: Vibrant Economic Climate To promote a strong economic climate that provides quality jobs for Somerset residents within a diverse mix of industries.
