ACSUM, the Associated COLT Staff of the Universities of Maine, represents the hourly clerical, office, laboratory, and technical staff across the University of Maine System. Comprising eight local chapters and a state executive board, ACSUM serves as the sole bargaining agent for its members, negotiating improved workplace conditions, wages, and benefits.

Affiliated with the Maine Education Association and the National Education Association, ACSUM's mission is to advocate for the rights and interests of the COLT staff. The organization empowers its members through elected leadership and ongoing efforts to enhance the work environment and compensation for all employees in the COLT unit.
