Dr. Mixon received his undergraduate and masters degrees from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana, respectively. He received a doctorate of philosophy in clinical child and adolescent psychology from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. His residency and fellowship, both specializing in pediatric (clinical health) psychology, were completed at the Children's Hospital of Orange County in California. Dr. Mixon is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and Mississippi Board of Psychology.
