Mike the Tiger's Habitat in Baton Rouge, LA, is a renowned facility that serves as the home for Mike the Tiger, the beloved live Bengal tiger and mascot of LSU athletic teams. Nestled between Tiger Stadium and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the habitat features a beautifully designed environment that includes lush plantings, a waterfall, and a stream, providing a naturalistic setting for Mike.
Established in 2005 at a cost of $3.7 million, the habitat spans 15,000 square feet and was created during the reign of Mike V. The current resident, Mike VII, who possesses both Siberian and Bengal characteristics, was donated to LSU from the Wild at Heart Wildlife Center in Okeechobee, Florida, and officially began his reign in 2017.
