The Green Oaks Juvenile Detention Center has a capacity of more than 50 inmates. It has wings for males with over 20 bedrooms. The center features a kitchen and laundry facility that can accommodate up to 10 individuals. The Green Oaks Juvenile Detention Center maintains classrooms and offers educational opportunities. The center is equipped with electrically locked doors. It also includes a nurse station, intake area and administrative offices. The Green Oaks Juvenile Detention Center offers physical, mental and spiritual programs for children. It is part of the Ouachita Parish Police Jury, which maintains accounting, animal control, fire, public works and human resources departments.
