Nugent Sand Company

Nugent Sand Company is one of the largest producers of construction aggregates in the Ohio River Valley. Nugent distributes sand and gravel by barge from its land-based pit at Milton/Carrollton, Ky., to Cincinnati, Huntington and Charleston, W.Va., Pittsburgh and other locations. Sand and gravel is dredged from farms adjacent the Ohio River and is processed, loaded into barges and towed to sales yards where it is unloaded and distributed by truck in the Kentucky-Indiana area. The Nugent Sand Company began in 1896 and remains family owned and operated. Nugent delivers its products by truck, rail or barge. In addition to delivering sand and gravel, it can supply large river construction projects. It is also capable of towing services with its boats and barges. Nugent performs dock maintenance, barge load out and unloading, as well as stockpiling and delivery of bulk materials.
