Dr. Mattie Adams, a Tennessee native, joined Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in 2022 as a consultative optometrist after completing her Ocular Disease Residency at BBEC. She specializes in treating retinal disease, glaucoma, uveitis, corneal pathology, dry eye, and managing pre- and post-operative eye surgeries. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Tennessee Tech, she earned her optometry degree from Indiana University. Recognized as a 2021 Top Optometry Graduate, she has received multiple awards for academic and clinical excellence. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and hiking with her husband and their two dogs.

Dr. Zach Tarter, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, specializing in cataract surgery, MIGS, and the medical management of retinal diseases. A Kentucky native, he earned his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky and graduated with High Distinction from its College of Medicine. Dr. Tarter completed his ophthalmology residency at UK, focusing on global ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
