History

The Beattyville/Lee County Tourism Commission was established in October 2011 by a joint ordinance between the City of Beattyville and the Lee County Fiscal Court. Funding comes from a 3% transient room tax on rental properties in Lee County. The commission hired a director in December 2011 and since has been dedicated to boosting the local economy though recreational tourism development and promotions of local festivals, attractions, and other events.
