Wichita Police Department

The Wichita Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that protects residents lives and their properties and safeguards individual rights and community values. It is structured into various divisions, such as investigation and field and support services. The department has various patrol bureaus that include north, south, east and west. The patrol bureau is responsible for delivering law enforcement services through the community policing philosophy. The department has more than ten school resource officers assigned to area high schools and middle schools to work as liaisons between the Board of Education and the Wichita Police Department.
