Lee A Tolbert Community Academy

I would like to personally welcome you to Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy's official website. While the primary purpose of this site is to provide you with an overview of our academy, I see it serving a more important goal. This website is our celebration of the fruition of more than a decade of hard work, dedication and tireless devotion to the Kansas City urban core.Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy certainly has changed over the years. When we started back in 1999, our school consisted of a few crowded classrooms located within the Christ Temple Church's walls. Now, under the leadership of Principal Vivian Roper, approximately 475 dedicated students enter our state-of-the-art facility ready to be responsible, prepared and ready to lead. And the future continues to be bright for this premiere community charter school. Recently the school received a ten-year renewal on its charter and received accolades from the State of Missouri's school board. We are in the planning stage of expanding our campus and debuting a new High School. Our modern community center will soon be open and will provide our students with twice the space as the previous gym.But what excites me most is the potential of our students. I've observed young minds developing strong leadership skills. I've observed students who act with equal amounts of ambition and compassion. I've observed children model future businesses with excitement and the determination to someday bring their businesses to life.I hope you enjoy exploring these pages, and if you have any questions or comments we would love to hear them. As a part of this community, I thank you for your involvement in our students' lives, and if you are new to us, we would love for you to become a part of our community of education.
