National Crop Insurance Services, also known as NCIS, is an international nonprofit organization that represents the interests of more than 60 crop insurance companies. Its member companies provide crop-hail and multiple peril insurance, as well as subsidized risk management programs. The organization s members offer services to socially disadvantaged farmers. National Crop Insurance Services is located in Overland Park, Kan., and offers crop risk information to insurance companies. It provides researched information to government and the agriculture industry that helps them to develop fair underwriting guidelines and accurate loss adjustment procedures. Established in 1915, the organization also assists the crop insurance industry in meeting various regulatory requirements related to the insurance sector. In addition, National Crop Insurance Services conducts a series of educational and professional forums that include conferences, workshops, field days, and annual and committee meetings.
