MTYP was originally founded in Wichita, Kansas in 1984 by Ms. Cary Danielson, and that program still remains an active and vibrant component of the Wichita arts scene. In 1992 Ms. Danielson moved to the Kansas City area and founded Music Theatre for Young People of Kansas City.
