Lawrence High School offers curriculum in English, technology, business, science, social studies, foreign languages, math and special education. Its facility consists of a cafeteria, dressing rooms, pool, library, theater and locker rooms. It also consists of a gymnasium with a seating capacity for more than 500 people. The school s swimming pool is equipped with more than fives lanes for swimming competitions, a diving well and special equipment for adapted aquatics. Prairie Park Elementary School, founded in 1994, is a learning center that serves more than 350 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. It has a staff of approximately 40 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals, including a speech and language pathologist, social worker, psychologist, autism specialist, nurse, guidance counselor, special educator, physical education instructor, media aide, reading specialists, classroom teachers, and art and music professionals. Prairie Park Elementary School provides educational classes in a range of subjects, including English, math, reading, basic skills, physical education and social studies. In addition, the school conducts classes in art, band, music, orchestra, and gifted and talented education. Located in Lawrence, Kan., Prairie Park Elementary School is a part of Lawrence Public Schools, which has a combined enrollment of nearly 10,200 students in over 20 educational institutions.
