A.V.I stands for Are-Kansas Valley Interbaun. The A.V.I was a train that connected Wichita, Hutchinson, and Newton back in the 1920's. A.V.I Seabar & Chophouse is connected to the Drury Hotel, which has a lot of history. During the prohibition in the 1920's, they used to host speakeasy's in the basement and the rooftop. Ben Arnold (owner of corporate caterers) has opened up A.V.I a fine dining restaurant in Wichita, KS.
