The Hammond-Whiting Care Center is a charitable and nonprofit organization. The center offers physical, occupational and speech therapies. The Hammond-Whiting Care Center s recreational services department provides a variety of activities, including exercise sessions, rhythm band, singalong, support groups and current events. It also calls special groups at the facility to provide entertainment. In addition, the center offers dietary, financial, social, and church and chaplain services to its residents. The center s volunteers help its residents with various activities, such as one-to-one visits, reading to residents, writing letters for them, taking residents for walks and assisting the recreational department with its activities for residents. Located in Whiting, Ind., it is a part of Life Care Centers of America, which operates more than 200 skilled nursing homes, assisted living facilities, retirement living communities, and home care and Alzheimer's disease care centers.
