Decatur Township Fire Department in Indiana provides public safety services to more than 30,000 residents located in an over 30-square-mile area. Its firefighters and paramedics respond to more than 4,500 emergency runs every year, the majority of which are for fire suppression and emergency medical care, but the department also conducts some tactical emergency vehicle rescue missions. The department comprises of a fire chief and other officers, and is staffed with more than 70 paid professional firefighters and paramedics, and is supported by over 20 active volunteers. Its emergency apparatus includes three frontline fire engines, a 100-foot aerial ladder truck, three ambulances and various other support and reserve vehicles.
