History

CheckMates, LLC was founded in 2015 by Barry Wright as a means of helping him develop an income after suffering a broken back while serving in Iraq. As a military chaplain, Barry found himself consoling many Soldiers whose spouses had drained their bank accounts and abandoned them. Additionally, with occurrences of elder abuse, identity theft, and mail fraud on the rise, Barry wanted to continue his service to the American people by stemming the tide of these ugly deeds. After much research, he discovered an emerging industry that would allow him the opportunity to serve as an advocate for others when it comes to personal money management. Out of this CheckMates was born with the idea of helping to pay bills and write checks. Most importantly, however, is the idea we desire to be not just a personal money manager, but also a friend for life.
